one thing that I want to say, don't worry about him your there for your kids! It's there day today...ya know. forget him and if he is there just be plesent...thats all you have to do. don't make a big to do about it.....just do your own thing.

Don't let the bas*ards get you down! Don't give them the satisfaction ;-) You are the one who should feel good about yourself for being a person of character and integrity and being a good parent by teaching that to your children. I agree with kaza, hold your head high and stand up really tall, girl ;-)

It probably won't be as bad as you anticipate. Like Kaza says, hold your head high. It is something that is going to happed sooner or later. Steel yourself for the possibility and imagine handling it with calm dignity. A few mental rehearsals will help take the fear away.

Grace and dignity, say it over and over... think of Jackie Kennedy, think of Audrey Hepburn, think of a dignified intelligent woman, and be her!!!! You can do it. I did. Hard but I pulled it off and cried when i got home.... but did it!!!

You stay strong pure and simple. I just had this experience with my ex. He brought his whole family to our daughter's 5 minute dance recital...LOL

I told him a while back to feel free to bring his GF to our children's stuff b/c he is serious with her and I am FREE.

Well I didn't expect the ENTIRE family to be there...his mom and dad, her mom and son, and his cheating brother with his GF and her son WOW!!!!!!!

I did not even bat an eyelash. I focused on my daughter and enjoyed her day. Also if you can bring someone with you that you can lean on that would be great. I brought my mom and it was wonderful.

I am so sorry. I cannot imagine the hurt of seeing him there, especially with someobe else. I know how badly it hurts to see them. I totally agree with Mary. TRy your best at grace and dignity. And if you are feeling sad while you are there, do not let them see it. Go to the bathroom, stare at the ceiling. It is hard, but I believe you can do it. I wish you strength and best of luck. Let us know how it goes.

My sons teachers are on the lookout for me and were told (by me) to stand close!

I attended my daughter's first violin recital and school Xmas concert this week...I made an effort to look good.
I have been depressed and looking like crap for months.....so what the hell if I was wearing a dress.

I put on my best Lil Black Dress...did my makeup and dressed up my other two girls...we got to the concert and my parents were there and had 2 row seats for us. I was lucky to have pple with me, but I was prepared to go alone.

My Ex showed up late...there were no seats left, he was practically outside the door.

I smiled a lot, felt proud of my daugher's accomplishment.

my advice..get there early...get settled in and feel the excitement and joy of the event.
