Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
But you are hurting you. When you say such awful things about yourself like who would want you--why do that to yourself? Do you honestly believe that anything he said was true? Do you have typhoid or the plague so that no one should want you at this time? It's okay to grieve, but never begin to cut yourself down to nothing in the process.
He's an abuser and wanted out--but we get to have more than one relationship in our lives. We don't have to get married again if we don't want to.
And you feel tainted why? Again, is it typhoid or the plague? No. My husband was an abuser and he's on his fifth marriage. There's no pining for him and they can have him, apparently they don't stay long and divorce him.
In your life, all that matters should be what you think about yourself. And other people will take the cue about treating you from the way you treat yourself and allow others to treat you.

Jgarc, the ONLY thing that matters is how you feel. When I talk about taking care of yourself and learning to love yourself again, this is exactly what I mean. NO MORE PUTTING YOURSELF DOWN!!!
I am going to be 45...divorced twice. I'm not concerned about what other people think because if I did, I would probably never leave my house.
Once you love yourself again, the pain you feel will turn to anger and then to indifference because in the big picture, they were just a stepping stone to a much better place in your life.
I wish you peace, love and happiness...be good to yourself!
These feelings are understandable. We are all in various stages of healing here. But we all experienced those emotions when the reality of being rejected sets in. It is a bitter pill to swallow, but we don't have a choice once the partner/spouse decides not to keep going with you. I admit that I still look back at those moments with regret, when I was the center of his world. Oh, wouldn't it be nice to be the center of his world again? But I have faced reality. Those were the days. I tell myself that I will be someone's center of the world again. But first, I need to heal.
Blueknight's advise is precious and I agree 110%. Love yourself first and foremost. Take care of yourself, physically and mentally, because if you neglect yourself and your physical health suffers, you just won't have the energy to battle the most challenging issue of all: getting over your broken heart.
You have to start propping yourself up otherwise it gives the impression you're not listening and people are offering their time and efforts to help.
Please consider that people want to help, but not forever. Come on, let people help and no more downing yourself. Many hugs.
Thank you everyone! I am sorry if I feel like I am begging for help. I just love talking to you all.
