My weird story and ex's behaviors..need answers!
Here I go for the SECOND time at divorce.....here's my kind of non-typical way of how this all went down.....my husband and I agreed at the end of February that we have been growing apart slowly over the last several months...well, my father had a heart attack in Florida on 2/24 while on vacation with my mother the day before they were to leave to drive home to PA (where all of us live). My husband and I agreed to fly down to give my mom the support she needed. While we were planning our flight down, my husband, like I said, agreed that maybe separating would not be a bad idea. We flew down to Florida and my husband only stayed a couple of days because he owns his own business and I stayed on with my mother for a few more days beyond that. To cut to the chase, once I returned from Florida, I asked my husband when he was going to move out (we rent a home and it is MY two teen sons and him that live there--he has no children). He upset me that night and got irate (not abusive) that I asked him that. The next morning, I left for work (March 6th, a Monday) and on my break I closed out our joint checking account at our bank. (My husband and I talked previously that if we were to seperate we would split our federal tax return which was quite a large amount.) I had every intention to write him a check for that even though I moved that money from the joint account to my own checking acct in just my name. Well, once my husband found out that I closed down the joint account, he called me at work, screaming and swearing at me "what the hell were you thinking?" He also told me that he was going to file a Protection from Abuse order against me. I did not quite understand this since it's not like my husband had NO money (he has his own business account PLUS a paypal account that he uses for the business--he had the thought of my money is also his money and that his money is only his money). He then began texting me saying all my belongings are being thrown out the door and that he was going to go to the bank and speak to the President to get this "straightened out" with the account. I got home and nothing was on the front lawn after all; however, he refused to let me in the house and then called the police!! The policeman asked him I lived here. My husband said "yes" and police said he would have to let me in since my name is also on the lease. I wrote my husband a check for 1/2 of the tax return after the officer left. My husband called my mom who was still in Florida dealing with my sick father and told her that he was going to have her daughter removed from the home and that I was abusive. This all happened by the way on my son's 16th birthday!! My mom pleaded with him to not do this, especially because of her grandson's b-day. He also called my ex mother-in-law (my boys' grandma) and was irate, swearing at her saying he was f'ing torqued and asked her could my boys stay at her place that night? So that night, I stayed at a local hotel because I was too freaked out to stay with him that night. The next night, I told him that I have every right to stay in the house..I pay rent there and my name also on the lease. He told me that he highly advised me to NOT come there to spend the night. I went to the police and they advised me to file a PFA in the morning at courthouse. He is ex-Marine and has several guns, including an AR-15. When I got to courthouse next morn, wouldn't you know it? As I entered the courthouse, who enters right behind me walking with his abuse advocate from our local Community Action?? You guessed it! To make a long story short, we filed simultaneous PFA's on each other that day (March 8th). We are to have no contact for one full year. From that day until March 31st, I had to live at the local women's shelter and my sons stayed with my first husband's mother (my ex mother-in-law). I agreed to stay away from the home so that he could get his belongings moved out. Pisses me off though that I had to stay at the shelter and my two children had to also be kicked out of our house! We have been back to our house four weeks as of today, but guess where yours truly is living? Diagonally across the street in a garage apartment! My one son who formed a close bond with him will visit him for an hour or so once a week and told me that he still has our wedding album on display on the coffee table. He also has a photo album of a recent cruise that we went on! He has some "old-time" type photos that were taken of all of us at beach. My question to whoever is reading this post is "What do you make of this behavior?" Is it typical of a person who may be mentally deranged?? Also, from the very moment he moved in across street, he is only there about two or three nights per week and does not come home at night.......your thoughts, peeps??
Some of the craziest I've heard.
Get rid of him and wash your hands of the crazy.
Who in heavens name needs that drama.
Men tend to fill threatened and react in threatening ways sometimes. He was hurt by what you did. Honestly, any one might have thought they'd been taken advantage of. Your intentions were good, I understand thst, but when you brought up divorce, you opened a can of worms.
I know that this isn't what you expected to hear, but you did ask for our opinions, I hope that you can resolve everything and find peace. I am a southern women and this is my opinion.
