I wonder if your only options would be a warehouse? I'm sure...although I have no direction to point you in...there are other things?
Hell...you went from one towel and a bowl to THIS? There is something about your scrappiness and determination that tells me you might feel knocked down THIS minute, but you will get up.
I am a teacher..and I think NC ids #48 for teacher pay in the country...and we haven't had raises in 8 years. Budgeting is my middle name because there is no other choice. I DO get child support, but I'm, literally, at the point where I have to watch each dollar, no matter what. I am doing the best I can not to have to get a second job, because I want to spend my time with my son, and having children one day was a part of why I chose teaching, so I could have time with him. Like you, it's a low paying job, and it's also a job I love.
It still feels like a kick in the metaphorical nuts, sometimes, you know? To be hardworking, doing what you got to do, and the money doesn't equal the effort and time.
I feel for you, and please look at your options before having to go back. Again, I have zero direction to point you in, but I'm sure, with your strength, you will find something that works for you.
Many hugs!
Sometimes they get us stuck in a place for a time. Sometimes they give us the impetus to move in a different direction out of necessity.
I've had my share, including what for me was the Mother of all Meltdowns late in 2007. In truth it was a progressive meltdown over the better part of a decade.
The interesting thing is now I am so very grateful for that MOAM. At the time it was almost too unbearable to go on. Almost...
Funny how over time one's point of view can change about the very same experience. Worst thing that can possibly happen to best thing that could have possibly happened.
