Welcome to the board and I hope you find support here.
And please, do not blame yourself. You didn't drive him to the arms of a child--no possible way.
If you feel you need counseling, I would get it. It may help you deal with your pain, confusion and sadness.
Peace and hugs. Keep writing to us here.
First thing is to breathe.(Take a look at my profile thats only 1% of what Ive been through.) Some men (women too) are just not worth it.
Second this has no direct reflection on you. Hell I was married to a gay man for 10 years and thought I turned him gay because I wasnt woman enough. Forget those thoughts. Some men just have no conception of right and wrong. I was molested for 6 years as a child be thankful the ex (and he better be) BF got caught. Your niece is family, blood as I put it. Nothing becomes between blood.
Counseling is good. But find a GOOD counselor. Theres a bunch of junk out there.
If I can do anything, answer any questions, lead an ear or a shoulder. Just message me.
Time to run, run, run away from him as fast as you can!! If you find yourself still thinking about him, by all means seek counseling. But Never, never talk to this man again. He's poison. And one that you never need to see again.
I am so sorry for your situation but you will be giving up so much of your life for a man that did this. You did nothing to make him do this he is a sick man.
He needs help and there are no guarantees.
I would run like hell. These guys are messed up and drag you in with lies and manipulation.
Good luck and many hugs to you.
Thank goodness your sister found your neices journal and it was able to be stopped quickly.
You have no fault in this.
I know it's a double whammy with the circumstances. Go to counseling. It will help you through this so that you can release any guilt or shame, and the pain, that goes with this situation.
Big hug to you!
Move forward focusing on you and special prayers for your niece as well.
