My husband and I have been separated for over a year, fairly amicably. He has a personality disorder and that has been a major challenge for us. We just had our 4 year anniversary and I told him I've forgiven him but still feel emotionally distant.
Today I had coffee with an acquaintance/old friend. We had adult conversation and it was easy. We had shared values that he is committed to. His brown eyes were full of depth. I realize I am attracted to him and my stomach is tight. My mind has been distracted and my heart pounds when I think about it. I haven't felt this in a long time.
But I am so clueless. I don't want to let this feeling go - I am intrigued, curious, and want to just remember what it is like to enjoy someone's company. Yet I'm not divorced which makes me feel like a terrible person.
This could be the beginning of something wonderful or the first time you've connected with a decent man in a really long time. Only time will tell.
I know things are tough and you can't control who you fall in love with, but please... as someone that has been cheated on... don't do it. Finalize divorce, etc. I still love my wife and she left me for my step brother. She is probably with him right now. It hurts...
