Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
But, in all seriousness, I like your list. Sense of humor, not being suffocating, financial smarts are important to me. Not being rich, but not being bad-credit, poor-house, can't pay my bills type. Nope, I'm too financially sound to take on that kind of mess.
Shared interests is important. Another one for me personally is if the guy has an X wife and kids, then he needs a stable, decent relationship with the X wife, because I will not take on somebody else's messy drama.
At the top of my list is no addictions. I'm also not into drama. I don't want to hear about how ALL of life is unfair. I figured that out when I was 6
YES!
NOOOOOO drama!! And, dude, have a JOB and health insurance. I'm not your Mama. LOL.
I'd like to put an asterisk or two next to the morality category, and the compassion one too. Remorse is in there somewhere between the two, I never would have thought that would be important to me, but a person who has no remorse or regrets over anything, was not a pleasant person to be with the last time around. I need to be with someone who is able to say they're sorry and actually mean it, to feel bad that they caused me or someone else hurt...even if they didnt mean to.
...emotional stability.....
"the gold standard"
An emotionally stable/mature person is:
Responsible
Positive
Open-minded
Committed
An emotionally stable/mature person has:
Compassion
Empathy
Understanding
Humility
Remorse
Conscience
Perhaps the operative phrase for those times is "Grace under pressure"?
Fire in the hole!!!!
:-)
Here's to EQ, not just IQ.
Integrity is a biggie for me.
