Its been almost a year since my boyfriend and I broke up, okay so let's start from the beginning him and I have been friends since middle school, we've been friends for 7 years. In those 7 years there would be times we'd have crushes on each other but it didn't seem to work out because usually one of us would have already been in a relationship.
on April 4th 2015 I had recently ended a relationship with one of our mutual friends and he had been single for over a couple of months as well. One night we were texting and I asked him out, he said yes, and move forward we've now been dating for almost two years.
However, my depression was killing me and he was stressed out with work, school, and he had just gotten out of surgery for his arm. We'd been fighting but it was never a daily thing. It was a rough patch in my opinion. He broke up with me the day after his birthday November 4th 2016.
We tried to be friends afterwards but his new girlfriend wouldn't let me go near him without screaming at me. Despite treating him horribly and telling her friends that she and my ex weren't even really dating.
Towards the end of their relationship I texted him one day while he was in Texas. We talked for a couple of days after that and when he came back to school we were best friends again, but his girlfriend still treated me horribly for talking to him.
After their breakup she screamed at him for being seen with me but here's where it takes a weird turn, shortly after that she harassed me even further when she tried to be my friend and dictate my friendship with our ex. I got tired of it and I told her repeatedly to stop, she didn't. I reported her and her friends for harassment because all of them would talk shit about me and this girls mother went as far to call me psycho for being autistic.
The principle believed her and said she did nothing wrong and when I told him how this girl threatened to hurt me twice he said I was lying. But throughout this entire mess I wanted to be with my ex again and have my old life back. Also throughout this time my ex gave me mixed signals and he still does, he calls me beautiful, babe, baby, hot, sexy, sweet, we went on a boating trip once and he said if we were still together it would've been a perfect date, he'll reminisce on our relationship, he once said until I get another boyfriend he'll be the closest I have to one, he let me hold his hand when we were at the movies when I was scared, whenever we talk about being together he always says "yes be friends for now" meaning someday it could change not "I don't ever want to get back together" and a lot of these signs tells me he likes me but I don't know and I asked him once why he didn't want to get back together and he said he was scared we'd get into a massive fight and he'd lose me forever. Why does my ex keep giving me all of these mixed signals?
