Mad Men (AMC TV show)

Yesterday I watched "Mad Men" for the first time and it made me think of its huge sucess. It is amazing to see how stories from the 60's are still hitting the same pattern when marriage is the subject in discussion.

Married couples who are so unhappy with each other and still remain married due to external reasons (particularly power) showing a plastic scenario of perfect family when both know it is only for show.

Do you know any couple who is experiencing this?

My ex had researched on how much it would cost him to divorce me and pay CS....I had no idea during that time that he was even contemplating a divorce as he told me daily how much he loved me and hold me and kiss me. Then, one day, soon after the discovery of his affair and his distaste in me, he sent me this link and asked me to consider it....

I love Mad Men. But I don't consider what is happening on the screen and apply it to myself in any personal way. It's Hollywood and everything is exaggerated and a lot happens in the space of 1 hour. I don't know anyone who is living this life. However, marriages to connect properties, power is nothing new. Just study the lineage of any of the Kings of England, Spain, France and you will see many marriages for reasons other than love. At that time, if you came to love your partner, it was a lucky thing as most unions were arranged.
