He is further into the divorce process than you. Stand your ground. One day, you may be able to be friends but not at this time. He'll either accept it or not but what is most important for you to realize is that you cannot control what he does. So if you can block him from your social media, then do but you will not be able to stop him from asking your children. Accept what you can control and let go of that which you cannot control. "He wants us to be friends, cuz he still cares about me" - Does that make you happy? The truth is, he's messed up. His actions aren't the actions of a husband, a friend, or a man. Asking your children how you are doing, hoping for two answers at once, "mom is devastated and lost without you" to make him feel good about himself, and "mom is bubbling with anticipation of her new life without you" so he doesn't have to feel guilty for what he's done. Don't feel like you have to justify not being friends with him. He just ripped your heart out and took some of your lungs with it...you don't have to reciprocate that with any sort of friendship. Co-parents, that's it. Maybe one day, a different kind of friendship could be established, but right now, I wouldn't trust him to do anything that involves caring for anyone but himself.

Yea, using the kids in this by him is textbook-wrong. You'll heal faster and better the less contact you have with him. My ex left me for a kid 13 years younger than her (oddly just a few years older than her oldest son-yuck). They acted like rebellious teenagers for months with huge plans of marrying, etc. Finally the "party" ended one night and things went so wrong there were no-contact orders made against him and his whole family. So it did catch up to her and probably will with your ex too. We all get tempted over time but it's how we deal with it that makes the difference. My exwife was all about the "forever, for always and no matter what" saying...even had the sign hanging in our living room yet she jumped ship when she thought the grass was greener somewhere else. Your ex is moving on too fast-it's unhealty and will hurt him in the long run. Stay strong. Hugs.

Yes, stay strong and remember all the non-negotionables that he's broken. Don't use them for anger or bitterness but to help yourself remember there's a line in the sand-your standards. Hold your head up high that you will never accept that kind of treatment....you're a good person and you deserve a good partner. As you heal and grow over time this stuff will become clearer.

I am amazed at how many posts/stories on here are alike. It is so true, the grass is not always greener and it will catch up with him eventually. It has been 7 months now since my husband left and last night I was feeling down and lonely so I looked at some pictures and read some old cards I had. But you know what, surprisingly he didn't seem as attractive or great to me anymore. I can only pray this is a sign that I am getting that much closer to moving on. I wish you all the best *hugs*
