Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Time is your best friend right now and I know it seems hopeless at times , but dont rush into anything. There are a lot of great people here too so lean on US and you will do fine.
Big hugs and best of luck .
I wish you all the best
I was in a similar situation to you. I didn't know ANYBODY in my city that wasn't either related to my stbxw, or close friends with her family. Sooooo... I started doing activities that forced me to meet and interact with new people. I took up bowling, guitar, pottery, beekeeping (yes, beekeeping), I volunteer with abused and neglected children, and I joined a social club and a club for home-brewers. I have met all sorts of interesting people that otherwise would have remained outside of my social circle.
You say you have some social anxiety issues. Are you seeing a therapist? I strongly encourage you to break out of your shell - even just a little bit every now and then. Start with something simple like a walk around the block. Join a book club - and if you can't find a book club to join, start one (try craigslist or meetup.com). Go to a museum. Volunteer at an animal shelter. Take a guided tour. Volunteer with the PTA at your sons' school.
You don't have to go out there with the mindset of "I am looking for my next husband." Rather, just get out there and say "I want to meet people."
You have an opportunity to completely reinvent your life. Embrace it!
