Anyone out there living with their parents?

My two children and I are living with my mother. This weekend, the kids will be with their dad, and I am staying at a friends for the weekend. I need, and want time to myself.

My mother is making me feel guilty for going. I am a 42 yr old woman! She is driving me crazy! Right now, she is in the kitchen, sighing every now and then. She hates to be alone.

What am I to do? Does anyone else have this problem?

Just checking:)

BTW, she is NOT going to stop me from going. I am going to have a GREAT weekend, and will not let her get to me! I deserve a break, too!

I'm not in the same position. I can't imagine living with my mother. I love her, but at 42 I can't imagine living with her. I think she'd play the guilt trip too.

My sister lives 600 miles away, when she comes & visits and then goes home, it's real hard on mom, she gets depressed, and lonely.

I think I can see where you're mother would be lonely, but I also understand where you need your time away.

I say, you go girl, have a great time!!!

My son and I live with my mother and it's a controlling/attachment thing too. I think its sad when they rely on us to fill that space. They need to meet people with shared interest but just like us its hard for them too. So be understanding but don't stop living your life. Have a wonderful weekend.

That was the first thing my Mom offered to me when i told her about the divorce- "Come home. You can stay with me as long as you like" While a most generous offer, I know I couldn't do it. I'm visiting for 10 days and I'll be going crazy after 3!!

Me & my daughter are living with my mother. It's not too bad...but not like having my own place! My mom is actually away till Sunday...so YAY! House to myself...just me & the kid!

My parents lived with me for 5 years! I can so relate! When I started dating, my father actually stayed up waiting for me to come home,, then met us (my date and I) at the door and yelled at me for being too late and then yelled at him asking him if he realized I had to get up at 5:00 am to go to work! This man and I are still seeing each other, however, I moved my parents out! LOL

I am living with my mother now. Most days drives me crazy. Better than having no where to go, but will be happy to get out eventually. I figure it's better than living with the STBX

I live with the parents at the moment(unfortunately). I don't have the same problem as you. My folks want me to get out of the house and have fun lol

Your mom just wants to spend time with ya. I am sure she wants you to have fun and be happy at the same time. :)

My problem is that I feel like I am 16 again. I should do this, and I should do that. blah blah blah blah...i love them and all, but I don't like to be told what I should do at age 31. :)

When I left my stbx my parents wanted me to come live with them(yikes).My parents live 750 miles from here and they are old and controlling not to mention in poor health. I would have moved out of one bad situation into another bad situation.I have to visit them for a week soon and will spend part of the time at a hotel. I lived in my car for awhile,but that was better.

I had to leave an ex 4 1/2 years ago when he turned to crack. My life has changed so much since mom suggested I come home. Sometimes it is a challenge to live with mom and dad. Obviously it has been a long road for me to get my life on a better track than it was then.
I kind of like it myself. I have freedom and a chance to be there for them a bit now with helping out some. It beats living someone in an abusive relationship.

Ever since my divorce i moved in with my mom. I have the opposite problem, she always wants her space, and for me to get out of her hair, but im the one that wants to hang out with her..Sigh ::hugs::

Thankfully I'll never have to live with my mother. But she did move out here. And I will be relying on her to watch my children from time to time.

I'm not happy about it, but hoping that it will work out.

You have my sympathies. It must be very tough.
