I'm not sure why some men try to mask their broken emotions with new relationships it never works. Just creates more issues.

Mine moved on practicaly straight away to. He can't do without sex that's the problem with him. And doesn't it show that they didn't think much of us in the first place to do that. I could never be like that.

yeah it does make it seem as though they really didn't think much of us or that we are that replaceable but its more so to me that there lack of love in themselves has to seek it out immediately in or to validate them.

And it also begins to show how shallow some of them really are.

At least he waited until after you split...each and every day I find out just how long my ex was having an affair with his current girlfriend and how many others there were before her!!

However it hurts just the same!

The more you know a lair, the scarier it gets... you don't know what you don't know... and then when you beging to know some of those unkowns, it can destroy a person, makes one question what about the relationship was ever real.
In my case it makes me question what I believe about myself (bith good & bad)
hang in there, it sucks to love a lair just have to take what they say as entertainment and leave it at that

I never said I wasn't gonna do it, but a few weeks after I got dumped, I joined a pay and a free site. I think I was looking for that external validation that I was still a desirable human being. Funny that.

A. It comes from within.
B. How, with everything I know, could I fall into THAT trap?

Anyway, the pay site, I never went on one date. The free site I ended up making a bunch of online friends, and musing at people's opening lines in one of the forums.

@ mstgd I definitely understand the need for connection and validation. But you I don't believe are the same type of person as my husband quite frankly even if you are as blunt as he in my opinion (no I don't say that in a derogatory way). I have seen him as a sex addict. I made it unacceptable and he made progress but as the marriage fell apart he quickly went back to it. It's simply disheartening to say the least. My husband felt he was superior to many if not all and everyone was at fault accept for him (entitlement....ect ...ect). I completely loathe him and his existence and it really is good riddance. I can finally get to work on that inner stuff that I had problems with in the relationship. who knows how long it will take but I refuse to be sucked into the abusive lifestyle anymore because it can easily make me abusive because I have had to defend myself for a very long time against abuse and I don't want my daughter around it at all...period.

I'd say, if that's true about him, he's on an extra validation mission, as I think -he thinks- he's validated through the amount of times he mounts something.

My ex is also admitted sex addict (one of the few things he will admit to) so I totally understand where you are coming from. Your ex sounds a lot like mine and I have recently discovered that my ex is a psychopath (this comes from talking with my therapist and reading up on the issue), of course he would never admit it or even seek any type of help. I am certainly not a therapists and don't know much about your story, but I thought I would share a book that has helped me tremendously (although I still have a long way to go). The book is called "Psychopath free: Recovering from emotionally abusive relationship". I bought it on Amazon (Kindle ap version) for only $2.99. Best $2.99 I ever spent. As I said, this might not apply to your situation but thought I would throw it out there. They do have a free preview you can read to see if maybe it is something you want to read. It was truly eye opening for me. You can't imagine how many times I have said out loud to myself "oh my, I was married to a psychopath!"

thanks....I really do feel psychopaths are have a wild attraction to me. I think they can smell your vulnerability. I really honestly believe it is primitive that way. I will have to read up on that book. Thanks :-) I did often diagnose him myself as a sociopath.
