There is no time limit on feelings, you must do your very best to keep you mind off of it. I went out every night and met friends, but didn't drink, just to be around people.
Drinking isn't a good thing it'll make you look really badly and ruin your vital organs.
Just pray for the jerk to be happy and healthy and that will make you the better person. I know that helped me. TrishtheDish
I have asked my self the same question numerous time through the 24 years that I have been married, and unfortunately that won't allow us to make 25.
I think there are a lot of factors. In my case, it had a lot to do with the role I played in my family relationships growing up, and my wife's families inability to communicate appropriately.
I have done lots of counseling, and had to come to grips with my issues, but not everyone is willing to come to grips with their issues and find other outlets for there issues. It can be a way of hiding from the problems.
Not sure if this helps you any, but I am hoping you get start your way upward soon on the roller coaster ride.
Still, I would love to know the answer to that question as well, since it's not just a question of opening yourself up to someone, they also hit you where it hurts the most, something you would never have imagined.
