Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I would definitely contact a domestic violence shelter for advice on what to do in this situation. Yes, he is going to say things about you, but don't rise to the bait, no matter what he says. If he can get you to respond, he will begin to manipulate you to get you back--this is what alcoholics and abusers do.
Think of your safety--be aware of your surroundings, keep your doors locked, screen your calls. Have a plan for if he shows up at your home or place of work. Let co-workers know about the protection order so they can keep an eye out. Have a safe place to go in the event you encounter him and he becomes violent.
I will pray for your safety.
My ex would beat me up. When we separated, he could not touch me physically but he actually came to the home and threatened me. He also called my one boss and asked if the boss was having an affair with me. When I took a 4 day vacation (that included Saturday and Sunday which I normally didn't work), my ex called into work demanding to know where I was and was so bad they put the entire workplace on lockdown. My ex went to my workplace and that was trespassing and didn't see my car there.
The judge wasn't pleased and he took the brunt of his actions. I had an order of protection too. Anger like that is usually their weak spot, but they don't realize that.
My ex's mother also cut off all contact with our son. No cards, presents--nothing. It's tough to explain to a child why Dad and Grandma disappeared out of his life and don't even send birthday cards or Christmas cards (forget even the presents) to acknowledge the boy exists.
My ex's mother now has gone through her son having 5 wives (at last count), so she is either needs a scorecard or has just given up.
