I have not been around much lately. I have been busy with work, that is going well, and I have been trying to get more social (if that is possible).
Went out for a cruise this weekend. I got 16 nauticle miles from home and my engine developed an issue. The fresh water circulating pump went out.
A sailboat with an engine is still a sailboat, but a powerboat without and engine is adrift! LOL. I sailed most of the way home and got a friend to tow me until I could muscle the boat into the slip. I was pretty freaked out because I thought that the parts would be expensive but it turned out to be only $78.00. Had to order them and they will be in on Thursday.
I decided to go out last night. Ended up at a bar in the area where I live. I was quickly reminded that in a small town the dating pool is about as deep as a puddle. I didn't know many people there and I really didn't meet that many people while I was there (I think that I met two new people and that is all).
The dating world is nuts. I went out with a girl about a month ago. Soon after the first date I was told that she was glad to have me in her life. That was a little freaky so I have been slowly avoiding her more and more (thank God she doesn't know where I live or where my boat is).
Funny thing is that I am actually enjoying being single in some ways. There are a lot of things that I miss about being in a relationship but there are also some benefits to being single. There are just some things that you can't do by yourself so I wouldn't mind finding something eventually.
