I finally had to go back to bartending (Not something I really wanted to do, but beggars can't be choosers right?)...luckily I did have that to fall back on though. Get right on that unemployment too...they are SO backlogged (about a month behind in my state)! Yeah...stressful. I feel your pain. Good luck.

Hey Joybean72, thanks for sharing your story :) I will have to find something and fast because even savings run away pretty quick. In Miami there are lines like swirl lollipops when a job fair comes around.

That is such a raw deal. I'm so sorry this is a rough time. I'm hitting the pavement too. heck if this keeps up we'll all be nomads with pup tents moving about the country cuz no one can afford anything else.

Hi Zippid, it really stinks and I see so many out there in denial thinking that they will get a job right away. I have never seen or experienced a time when so many are out of a job.

CM I have been laid off since 11/08. Jobs are hard to find right now. Unenployment will be about 60% of you pay.

Hi GSCH, In FL they pay less than $300 a week for unemployment, which is way lower than the 60% of my pay. I am in for some serious cuts: probably I will buy a huge bag of rice at Costco and eat this everyday until I find another job!

Hey KingDeramo, join the club - we will need DS to get through this phase and I am sorry that you are also feeling the same I am. Today I am feeling horrible, aware that the reality is brutal and there are no jobs. In Miami the job fairs have lines with no end and nothing related to what I do. I wish you good luck. My resume has been up in Monster and Career Builder for some time because I could see this coming but I have not received any contact.

I had a 5 month span back in 2004 where I quit a terrible job, thinking I would find something else right away (always had before).

When I didn't I worked a bunch of crappy short term jobs to get by , all the while thinking "what have I done ?"

I got pretty depressed about it.

But then I found this job, and I have been here for 5 years now, and it is a great place to work.

The current economy is not allowing me to be so positive right now, but I have always believed that good things happen to good people and bad things make your soul grow.
