I have known my husband since I was 12 - I an now 45. As we grew up as friends, we went our separate ways. One day we ran into each other and he invited me and my current boyfriend to a party. At the party he whispered in my ear, I can see your not happy so leave him and come with me. For two weeks I could't get those words out of my head. So I did just that. One year later we were married, two months later I was pregnant. That is when every thing changed. He had me. Pregnant and dependant on him.. Then one day my ex - (father of my first son) who also happen to be child hood friends of my husband, needed a place to stay. So against my wishes, he invites him to move in with us. They started going out til all hours of the night drinking and carrying on like they were bachelors. When a husband goes out and doesn't get home until 4:30 am when the bar is litterally 3 minutes from the house and closes at 2am - one starts to wonder and accuse of affairs. I complained that if he wanted to go out with the guys that was one thing, however, we needed to have nights out too. Thats when he told me that he was ashamed to be seen in public with me because I had gained - at that time 25 pounds. He told me that I wasn't worth the air that I breathe. I don't know how to cook, clean or take care of our daughter (by the way, she earns A's and B's) only because I'm the one who sits and helps her with her homework, because he's at the bars. Anyway, I have never had concrete proof that he has had girlfriends, but his actions have always said enough. Why haven't I left yet. I tried last year. July 1st I was out the door when he got on his hands and knees and begged me to stay. About week ago, I found out the only reason he wanted me to stay was because he was getting ready to have surgery and knew that he couldn't handle the bills with out me. Now he is waiting on a settlement from "workers compensation" and wants me out the door. He has played with my emotions for 13 years. He has verbally, sexually and emotionally beat me down. I have absolutely no self confidence. I've been told I'm ugly and not worth it. That is why I hide in my bedroom at nights. Sorry for the long story, there is so much more but in short, he's a player and I should have left a long time ago but wanted my marriage to work so I beleived his sweet words, when he used them.
