They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Good Morning everyone who is reading this. I hope each and every one of you has a blessed morning. Let's be honest if you are reading this then your morning might not be as happy as it could be. This is the reason I wanted to write to you all.
Crying could be a good or bad thing. It all depends on how you do it.
I remember wallowing in my self-loathing and depression and crying for hours on end till there was no more tears and still kept whimpering like a hurt puppy. It was awful. The feeling of suffocation would be so intense I would actually think I was dying. Sound familiar?
So is this a good thing? So many people believe to be getting better and letting out by doing this. It is not a good thing. Letting it out does not mean curling up in a ball on the floor in your room while hiding under a blanket and crying like there is no tomorrow. Letting it out is doing it when there is need to do it.
Schedules are your friend. Don't forget those words. SCHEDULES ARE YOUR FRIENDS. It gives you control of everything in your life and it gives you discipline.
How do we schedule our cries? As stupid as this might sound, you have to even schedule your cries.
Here is how:
First learn to control yourself just a little at first then more and more along the way. If the need to cry is so great then let it out but before you start tell yourself. "*insert your name here* you will cry for 20 minutes and not a minute longer. Then you will wash your face and go for a run." Look at yourself in the mirror as you tell yourself this. Then SIT and cry. Do not lay down for your cry and do not overdo it. Explain to yourself that you are crying to let go not to wallow in pitty. Each tear and sigh is a release of the pain. After 20 minutes you MUST get up and go wash your face. Talk to yourself in the mirror again as you gain control and tell yourself "You are done for now. You are ok. You have let go and you are now stronger." and this last thing you will say to yourself is the most important one, "I got you. I won't let you fall."
You have to remember that you might have no friends or a million friends around you, BUT the best friend you have right now is yourself. Nobody will take care of you better than you can. So be a good friend to yourself.
If there is anyone right now who can't stop crying, who is in a dark hole, who can't see the light, who is suffocating, who is dying inside... Try this for a week and see how much control you have taken back. At the beginning it is hard but it gets easier.
So SCHEDULES: Now that we talked about how to schedule your cries, what about the rest?
Your schedule should be filled. Wake up in the morning and cry for 10 minutes. Shower and give yourself self-assurance in front of the mirror and go to work. Lunch with a friend or coworker (if possible don't be alone) 10 minute cry after to regain strength since lunch with people drains you sometimes when you feel so low. (NO TALKING ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS DURING LUNCH) Then back to work. After work another 10 minute cry if needed right before exercise. Then an HOUR or more exercise. When I say exercise I mean killer/beast mode exercise. There is no room for cry-babies in the gym. That's why we cry before hehehe. Then go home shower and READ/WRITE. Anything that will help you keep your mind busy and focused on something other than your problem.
Guess what happened during a day like this? You still let it out. You still cried, but you did it in small doses and there was no room for wallowing and suffocating and dying. You didn't hold it in BUT you didn't let it take control of you either. You are in control and on your way to a better life.
This is just my humble advice of something that worked wonders for me. If it doesn't work for you then find your magic pill. I know you can do it. Each one of us is different but trust me IT HELPS.
Bless you all and hugs to each and every one of you.
I will work on making myself the main focus and not HIM!! He doesn't deserve anymore of my energy. I should be focused on myself and my son.
I thought about writing down everything I love about myself, and everything I should be grateful for. Sometimes it helps if you write it down. Maybe then when I start felling bad I can take out that list and it will help lift me up.
I know I have a long way to go. I just kicked my husband out 11/09/16, so this is all fresh and my feelings are still all over the place, but I know now that I need to make myself the focus. I know that I'm important and I have you all to thank for that.
The holiday season makes all of this much harder but we are a family here and we will continue to support each other. Everyone please try to smile today!!
