Like most of you, I was dreading today. But, I decided a couple days ago-ok last night-that I wasnt going to let it get me down this year. I got up in a good mood, cause I'm back on my meds-yay-. got dressed for work and didnt realize till walking out the door the significance of me wearing a red t-shirt and my red cowboy boots! We work half a day on Fridays, so that was good.
On the spur of the moment I decided today would be a good day to do an errand I've been putting off for over a year. I went to the social Security office to get my maiden name back. Again, didnt realize tat first that hey, I'm doing this on VD!.. I knew I would know when it was time to take that final step and today was the day.
There were no tears. Not even sadness really. I did remember the special things I'd done for him for VD when we were married, but I pushed those thoughts out and did some special things for myself.
Tomorrow may be rough, but today was grand.
