Well I can offer you I am not too far behing you, but fortunate to not be w/o a plan for the next home of mine. I just had our sep agreement finally accepted verbally Wed & yesterday I put our marital home (all in my name & yes he was the financially irresponsible one)we just built & move into in jan 07 on the market & put an offer on a new one for me. Lots to be excited about, but also tempered with anxiety of all the things one must do to arrange a move again & are you making a good choice in a new home, & then you have the reality of the marital end even if you have come to accept it as the best thing ever this is all hitting you at once.

Very tough to sort thru it all in your mind. I know when my papers are finally signed, I will need a drink with my good pals to at least toast the great future that lies ahead when a crisis sweeps in & messes up our lives. But it still will not be without some sadness.

I would treat yourself today as best you can. A massage, a good book, a good bottle of wine with a friend, a big sundae, whatever you treat yourself with. Just know whether you are prepared for your new situation mentally or finanically, it still can be painful even if logic tells you that you should be celebrating.

I just sold my home a month ago, it was hard but I had no choice. You want a laugh well lets see what positive came out of the house sale.
1. I no longer have to sleep in the same house he brought his girlfriend to.
2. He doesn't have a key to my new house so if he enters to check my phone or email I can on accident shoot him because I thought he was an intruder(dang guess I would need to get a gun first) scratch that idea, it is a nice thought though.
3. My kids call our new home the whetto(White ghetto) pretty inventive I thought.
4. x doesn't have a house, he has a crappy apt. or sleeps in his business. Kids refuse to spend the night because they may catch some disease from one of his girlfriends.
5.New neighbors aren't all happily married with 2.5 kids whose husbands would never leave them and destroy their perfect world.
6.My new neighbor's yard is a mess so I don't have to feel guilty that I can no longer afford a lawn service, my yard still looks better than hers.
7.I hated the color of my siding in my other house anyway.
8. I could have strange men over and noone would care or know the difference(yea I live in a fantasy world, first the inruder now the strange men.
9.I got all of the furniture and he got all of the junk, every now and then I find a piece of junk that I may be generous enough to give to him. Usually after the kids or dog have gotten ahold of it first.
10.It's mine all mine and not his, his name is nowhere on the title.

I know this isn't an easy day but maybe you smiled about a couple of these, I did. Good luck today.

We sold our "Dream Home" that we JUST purchased in August of '06, in Feb '07. When the sale closed and I was picking up my last load of stuff, as I was about to leave, I spit on the house and bid it "good riddance". I laughed all the way to my new townhouse.

I have 3 years to buy him out. So I have to save 100,000 or move. I think a move will be good.

our home went into foreclosure today,,not for lack of money but because he feels after 19 years together ( 17 of them married) that I should just go off and die. He won't give me anything.. not my clothes, my money, no custody, no access.. nothing.

So I am feeling quite good.....he will have to move without any house equity to do it...F_ck him!

I'm afraid I may be needing these suggestions before long :(
