Can't get him out of my head, i'm stuck in the past today, remembering the past 21 years. Wondering if he misses me at all, knowing he doesn't. So then i am angry at myself for even going there. Feel so alone. I feel other than my children who are grown and out on there own, my life has no purpose right now. I feel i am just going thru the motions just to get thru each day. I sit in my car reading every self help i can get my hands on to try to feel better, but i don't. I just sit there in my car outside of my apartment avoiding to go inside, as i know there is no one there to greet me, ask how my day was, just a hug. I am 51, haven't lived alone since i was 18. I have always been a mom from age 24 til my youngest moved out last fall. Then it was supose to be just him and i enjoying our life finally as just a couple, which we never had over the years, and to enjoy our grandson. Now it's all gone.

I'm so sorry. I'm grieving the imminent divorce in my 7 year marriage so I can't even begin to feel the pain and loneliness that you are going through.. For what it's worth you have support here. Hugs

What was the breaking point that caused this? Leaving or being left both have high and low points that are for those involved nothing to relish. Both hurt and it doesn't quit hurting easily and even though I'm involved in a breakup after a long marriage everyone loses.

I just started noticing he had been distant and short with me, or just ignoring me all together, on on march 3rd, I asked him why he was so distant, that's when he told me he was done, he wanted a divorce, that he had given up on us. Now I knew we had some issues mainly financial, but divorce was the last thing I thought he was going to say, He said he had been faking his feelings for me and towards me off and on for quite awhile. So now I just wait for the big bomb when he finally files for divorce, he told me he was as soon as he could come up with the attorney fees. I asked if there was anyone else, he swears there isn't but I don't know what to believe, he would come home every night same time, never on his computer, never on his phone, but now what he did while he was at work I have no clue. But I still have my suspicions.

I am so very sorry you are having to go through all this, my heart pours out to you.

We had some rocky times a few years back when I had some of the same feelings you are sharing. It was an incredible struggle, the emptiness and loneliness, thinking that all those years of being Mom and Dad for the kids, everything we shared was about the kids. Our marriages center around our children, and as well they should....we just assume that the couple will always be there. It's taken for granted, shouldn't it be? Sometimes when the children grow up and leave, the purpose of the marriage seems to walk out the door too. It shouldn't be like that, but sometimes it is.

If you have an outlet, hobby, ladies group or church friends for support, that might help you get through this rough time. I pray that today is better than yesterday, and that tomorrow will be better than today. I do wish you well, Joyce, and will pray for you.
