Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
You are young and deserve to give yourself and your kids a happy life.
One of my favorite people always says you can tell a persons future actions by their past actions. you break up and he eventually convinces you he wants to work on things and you go back to him--
he then goes back to his old ways.
He is only giving you lip service, with no intention of working on anything.
You are still young. Please don't waste your time on him.
I found this post you wrote and you said for 15 years you were full of tears and heartbreak. You and your kids deserve so much more. He would have to at least pay child support if you divorced.
You don't really miss him. You miss what you were hoping was a happy ever after ending, but you won't get that from him.
You posted,
"I am having a very difficult time and really looking for support. I have been married for nearly 15 years most of which I have to say have been full of tears and heartbreak. We have 4 kids (14, 12, 11, and 8). He has cheated and left me on more than one occasion. We have always managed to get back together but never really working anything out. Well true to who we are, 9 months ago he left me again. For the first 5 or 6 months we barely talked and he barely saw the kids. I filed for divorce in January. He started coming around more and finally taking the kids on his weekends."
I wish you the very best!!!!
As for missing your ex, I don't know that that necessarily goes completely away, especially when you have children. I left my ex, I've been separated/divorced almost 3 years and there are time I miss things about him, but I don't miss the unhappiness I had with him. Your missing will eventually change, and it will be bittersweet rather than heartbreaking, but it is different for everyone.
You stay on the path you are on, and you will get there, but no one can tell you when. It is different for each person, but you must do the work to heal and reach that point, and it sounds like you are. Keep the focus on you.
