I talked 2 a legal aid rep 2day. She put it in perspective. Because we're not separated his income counts and I'm therefore not eligible. Sthe suggested moving 2 another room and living separate lives just in the same house. She said don't wash his clothes or do his dishes etc. I thought that sounded petty since hed still b paying most of the bills. I talked 2 a friend and he explained that if I was really ready 2 end the marriage, the money wouldnt stop me and i would have no more desire 2 do things 4 him. I still have hope. I feel dumb b/c i dont know if hell change or if he does how long it will take. friend suggested the change could b slow and gradual. as long as i have hope divorce isnt gonna work. so i was thinking if i spend more of my time concentrating on me and taking advantage of my freedom when i have it. time away from the kids 2 go out shop read school work etc then id be more balanced and stop being consumed by depression over what i do not have. trying really trying.
Being dependent on someone else while trying to separate is...well trying at best.
As for not doing his "chores"...it sounds "harsh" but a good idea. My ex couldn't understand why I didn't want to wash his clothes or cook his meals while we were living separate under the same roof. We were equal "financially", but I resented doing his laundry and cooking for him.
Guess it's a matter of choice. I chose not to be his chief cook and bottle wash!
