My husband split up with me once before, when we were just dating. He did it via email, and just after I had done a lot for him, helping him move into his new place and buying him groceries etc. He is a musician and he had just given me his new cd, a band tshirt and bumper stickers. When I got the email (he had met a hot woman and had new ideas I guess), I laid that pretty tshirt and cd on my driveway, got my daughter to video me running it over in a big ole 4 wheel drive pickup truck. And making sure I left tire tracks on the shirt. That felt so good.
So months later he comes begging back and I gradually accept and years I agree to marry him (red flags flying). This past August he asked me to get onto his computer to pay a utility bill and as he was spending more and more on time online I checked his history and he was making appointments to see efficiency apartments. I said nothing for a few days, giving him time to tell me but he said nothing.. So I asked him, when the heck were you going to tell me you were leaving - and by the way pack the shit up and get out. He indeed was leaving. He was gone playing music for days on end and I wore myself out piling all of his stuff up in the living room, pretty sure it was noisy and things got broken. It was therapy. I had a minor bonfire burning a few photos in the kitchen this past weekend and that felt good but I need to laugh like I did when I ran over his crap in the driveway. I wish I still had that video, it would do me good.

I did what I called a cerimonial buring of everything (except wedding rings) and I still smile to this day when I think about watching everything go up in flames. I worried at the time that one day I might regret it...but nope...still smiling!!!

In the spirit of laughing though, I renamed him on my cell phone as "Selfish and Thoughtless One" because that is what I think of him.
As for me, I used a sharpie to draw a mustache and devil horns on all the photos of my cheater. It was super mature. And fun as hell.
And I kept one framed and displayed for weeks with all my normal framed photos on the mantle. HA!
Anyhow, the morning after I discovered my ex had been cheating with a married, family friend, I had already called him, called the OW, and called the OW's H. I then proceeded to text everyone in my ex's phonebook, starting with his mom and sister, to just let them know about this new development. In turn, his mom, sister, the OW, and the OW's H all began blowing up his work phone, which my ex HATES being interrupted at work. So, he shuts the texting off on my phone, calls me, and says, "I will give you back texting when you learn to behave"
Homie say what?
I called my brother (who lives 12 hours away) and said, "This bleep bleep bleep told me to behave" My brother said, "Let me call you back in three minutes". Three minutes later he calls and says, "Go to the ATand T in ________ plaza. I just added you to my cell plan."
DAYUM it felt good to pick up my new phone, text my ex husband, and say, "Hey, baby! It's me! Now, where was I?"
And dumb nuts made me laugh out loud. Maybe I will adopt that one too.
