over the past week I've been on this emotional roller coaster/cyclone & whatever other ride you can think of. Today I'm extra emotional for whatever reason. I'm struggling really hard with NC!! He reached out to me today and I ignored him. When I tried to call him back he ignored me & didn't answer call or respond to my text. But I'm like why do I care? Isn't this what I want?? To not Speak to him? So why am I checking my phone to see if he called?

I realized thereafter I need to find myself. I need to stop making this about him & about "losing our relationship " & make it about gaining myself. Gaining a friend in ME & gain love for me that I didn't know I lost or was missing. I do deserve better. My best friend says you will find someone better. Right now I can't even think of that. I'm just trying to find who I am. I read someone's post earlier today who mentioned that a breakup is like losing a limb. I find that to be true. You become so attached that when It's gone it's like you have to learn how to start all over without it.

I'm going to try to resolve to work on myself to make ME better. I know it won't be easy but I'm surely gonna try.

Its totally normal what you are experiencing. NC is extremely hard early on but eventually it becomes the new normal. You will get there but it takes time. You're breaking a habit and its tough. You really shouldnt even attempt responding because he chose not to respond, makes you feel worse and gives him back some of your power. Imagine him chuckling when he saw your name pop up, gave him a big ego boost. Remember he cheated, he blew it up not you.
Work on yourself and get back on the NC horse. We all fall off but climb back on and soon enough it will get easier. Its a slog though but so worth it when you feel them slipping away and not mattering anymore. Trust me it does happen :)

I don't have allot to offer but that I understand. NC is critical and I've broken it over and over for the past month. Here I am today back at square one and hurting more than ever. Please stick to NC. Hugs

hey, i'm here, to support. i understand. i'm going through, a break-up. it was long distance, she abandoned me, with no explanation, and no reason why. devastated me. i haven't contacted her in 16 days (the day it happened). it's been hard.

They say they care, he is asking about me to my kids so that makes them think he cares...but then anything I do say I need or said that he can't take, he throws it out later.
I have no recordings and I know that it wouldn't be believed anyway. This is just not the person he was or is about. He has been a great dad and of high moral character. But over the last year I just don't know. 25 yrs of "us" and no thought of ever just ME it is hard, but I know I need to.

I think you are on the right track and your mode of thinking of "finding you" I think is a very healthy thing to do. After my divorce, I felt a void and wanted it filled and I meet some woman that could have filled that void and could have been a "replacement". But I realized that I just wasn't ready to jump back into another relationship. The emotions of your past relationship are still residing within you and in my opinion, those emotions need to be fully resolved before going back into another relationship. But everybody is different, that is just me. But my choice to remain single I think has been very good for me. I am finding myself and learning how to be happy with myself. It can be lonely at times, but it is truly rewarding. I have complete control of my life and that feels good.
