Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
i know it's an awfully painful feeling, when we love someone very much, and want to be with them, and they don't have that same feeling for us. it truly does make our hearts sink. it can take some time, as much time as you need, to grieve. it's how i've been looking at my past relationship that suddenly ended 7 weeks ago. it's a grieving process. we all have emotions, and feelings. expressing them like you have in your post, is a good, healthy way, and a step toward healing. no matter how long it takes, we all can find such comfort, and uplifting support in knowing we can find support here.
keeping busy, has been helping me. at times, i have a great motivation to be busy, but sometimes i need the down time, to just reflect, write, and tears can flow. i'm so thankful you have your daughter, to spend time with. also hold close, your family and friends, through thick and thin, the ones who love and care most about us, will be here and there for us, in our darkest times. remember, you aren't alone. You taking some good steps, with eating healthy, exercising, and having some shows, and crafts to look forward too, is good. the feelings for doing those crafts, will eventually come. i know for me, personally, i was numb for 3 weeks after my ex suddenly broke up with me. i still am numb at times, and hope to regain all feeling back again, i know i will, with time, and you will too.
don't feel guilty, for sharing, and of course you aren't selfish. a breakup is a really hard challenge to endure. there's really no practice, and no being ready for it, when it happens, it's like a wave, and we gotta make sure we take care of our health, we will ride out the wave eventually. i know times may seem dark right now, but hold close, your most closest loved ones, family, friends, and keep writing too, when you feel up to it. visiting the group here, has helped me a great deal, over the past 7 weeks. it's truly a lifeline for many of us.
You aren't alone. *hugs*
i hope this weekend, maybe you and your daughter can go out for a walk, or to the park or something, to help distract your thoughts from your ex. even watching a movie with your daughter, one she would like to watch, it will get better, with time. take all the time you need to grieve. all my best wishes.
Today, I have not only written this post but also in my journal here on DS. I hope that eventually I will be able to help someone going through the same thing.
you're gonna hurt for awhile because you were all in
now for "not sure what i would let myself do", i'm glad you did not, i can identify with the sentiment but the world needs people like you that can believe and go all in, your daughter certainly does
Eventually your ability to engage with other things will return
It is normal
