Pretty selfish of him. If he has no interest in getting back together you probably shouldn't meet him. If you want to really heal then you shouldn't be talking to him at all. It's taken me about a year to get over my breakup where I'm not sad all the time anymore ..but it helps to cut the ex off and out of your life. Keep putting your hand in the fire and it's gonna burn again unfortunately.

I'm with kbbcoop. You need to know his terms for the meeting. Going NC is really the best. Make sure he's not keeping you in the picture just to keep you around in case things don't go the way he wants with other people and out in the dating world. Also, something to really consider is the statement you made about being able to trust him. That's so important, because without trust, there is no foundation. I know you know that, but just don't lose sight of it in your confusion. If your ex wants to reconcile, he has a lot of work to do, and that is all on him. Keep your guard up and protect your heart. Don't give it away easily to a man who has already hurt you once.

He won't tell me anything. I guess he wants to just see how it plays out? I don't think he knows how he feels about me or he's not sure. I have no idea!! Ask yourself one crucial question. Will you be able to accept what he has to say to you at this meeting? If he tells you he doesn't love you, or he made a mistake or he just wants to sleep with you or he only wants to be your friend. Whatever. If any of those things are going to put you on the couch for a month, I say don't go. You run the risk of undoing any progress you have made. If the only thing you want to hear from him is he wants you back, you may be sadly disappointed. His actions don't say he wants you back to me, they say he is selfish. You are the only one who can make the decision, but do you want to be with someone who questions his devotion to you and the relationship? I wouldn't. It's not a good foundation for a marriage. Just food for thought. You deserve better.

I would agree with the others. It will only set you back. I have been there only a few weeks ago, and all the progress I have made in the last 6 months, was gone. I am now starting over again with the healing process. If he can't tell you right now, I want this relationship back eff NOW, and will do whatever it takes, don't put yourself through it.

I agree. If his actions aren't matching up with the words you want to hear, you may be in for a huge disappointment. If you can go no contact do it. When you can't because of kids etc., it is so much harder because then they can slip in the little glimmers of hope while you are discussing the kids schedules. Don't put yourself through the heartache.

I have so many questions that I want answers to! I never got my answers. I don't think he wants me back and a huge part of me doesn't want him back, not right now. There is too much pain. But I want to know what has been going through his mind and why everything that he's done to me. He's never liked to text or talk on the phone about big things, he's always done them in person. I am still thinking though. I havent made up my mind.

You are the best judge of your ex's intentions in this meeting. Maybe you should go hear him out with the caveat that you aren't expecting to hear any type of good news. Protect your heart and your sanity. If you have unanswered questions that you feel will give you closure then maybe you can start off by asking him those questions before getting into his topic of conversation. The closure comes from you. There is nothing this guy is going to tell you that is going to give you closure or make you feel better. If anything it is only going to set you back.
