I'm getting divorced because my hubby cheated 5 years ago. We tried to make it work but he moved out 2 years ago and never came back. I'm depressed, lonely and ready to move on but i put on weight after he cheated and am shamed of my body. A guy I went to high school with, but don't remember, reached out to me on Facebook and we've been talking for 2 weeks. It felt so good to have someone interested in me. Sadly the more i learned about him the less appealing he became. He said he's been with a least 100 women and was shocked that I've only had sex with one guy which is my hubby who I met in college at 19. He shared a lot of other things that turned me off but he was so much fun to talk to (he has the best sense of humor) so i continued to text or talk to him every night. He admitted he's a sexual person and he started talking about sex early in our conversations. I'm shy about that but went along with it even though I wasn't totally comfortable. A few days ago he sent a penis pic which surprised me. There have been 3 times we've been texting or talking at late at night when he said he has to go because his mom or sister is calling. Who's senior mom calls or texts that late? I don't care who he's talking to but I felt like he was lying. Earlier in the week he said he had to go because his sister was calling and she had just had breast reduction surgery. The next day he said she was a DDD and went to a C. that led to a conversation about this lady I used to work for who had huge boobs. I'm sharing this because it confirms for me we talked about his sis. A few days later he said he had to go because he hadn't talked to his sister since the surgery. I swear swear swear he talked to her a few nights earlier because he shared all those details about her surgery. He sent a text the next day after he never called me back when he told me to hold - while he talked to his sis. He had sent his dick pic the same day he never texted or called back. The next day he sent a text asking what i thought and I didn't respond all day so he texted back and said "nothing?" In a joking manner i texted, "Dude, you're such a liar." I put a winky smiley face so he knew I was joking around. Like I said, we aren't in a relationship so i don't care who he talks to. I was trying to give him grief and be flirty but it backfired. I told him he said he talked to his sister earlier about her surgery and then said he hadn't and he flipped out and got super upset and told me he has come a long way and works hard not to lie because he used to lie all the time...he would never lie about his family...and much more! He adamantly started he is not a liar. He made me feel so bad when I was just trying give him grief which he's done to me a lot. I apologized profusely and in retrospect looked pathetic. We ended up texting a lot after that and it got sexy which I was not comfortable with. At the same time i enjoyed the attention so i joined in. I caved and sent him a topless pic which was the stupidest thing I've ever done and totally out of character for me. I felt sick about it all day yesterday. Stupid me texted him last night to apologize again for upsetting him and see how he was. He said he was upset about it still so I explained yet again I was so sorry. He finally said he accepted my apology and added, "Don't ever talk about this again." That took me by surprise. He didn't call or text today so I'm pretty sure we're never going to speak again. My mind will not stop thinking about this. 1. Was his reaction to me joking about him lying normal? I guess in my mind it was meant to be jovial but it didn't come across that way via text so he's mad. Do u think hes really lying? 2. I hate myself for sending a pic and for apologizing like a scorned woman. I'm so embarrassed and hate myself so much right now. 3. Even though I'd never pursue a relationship with him, I really liked talking to him and the past two weeks I've felt less lonely and I'm going to miss our conversations. He's the first guy I've talked to since my husband left. 4. Am i a total weirdo for having only been with one guy? I'm 39 but most of my friends are like me, met a guy young and stayed together. I'm so upset that I'm in this place. I married my husband thinking it would be forever and now I'm all alone and feel like I did in high school when everyone rejected me and I had no control over any of this. I feel so stupid. I'm upset because i never confront people or speak up. I just keep everything to myself. For some reason i questioned him and don't know why i did. That's out of character for me too. If i had just kept quiet like i always do i wouldn't feel like such an idiot. I'm scared no one is ever going to want to be with me and I'll be alone forever. I need to see a counselor but I'm stuggling so much right now I'm here for advice tonight.
Get the counseling.
And cut that creep off. He a sicko. He's looking for someone to take advantage of.
You may have been with only one person for most of your life, but that isn't a flaw. Think of it as an opportunity to try all the new things that most people do at 20, with twice as much experience. You just need to trust that voice inside your head that tells you when you shouldn't be messing around with someone. (as with facebook guy) There are many other single people out in the world, and you'll need to pass on more than a few before you find one that is compatible.
My advice: Don't be too hard on yourself, give yourself permission to make some mistakes while you figure things out.
It happens because we are in a vulnerable state and have bad self esteem , and users and abusers can smell it a mile away.
You are a good person. You deserve better. Consider it your first emotional rebound and a lesson learned. Take care of yourself, take care of your body. Heal your mind, drop the weight, feel good about yourself and meet a real man!
But to meet a real man, you have to become a strong, confident woman that you are meant to be.
