I am just so pissed about this switch right now. They already pay me for shit and now the one good thing about the place is gone. Stupid shit!
It is like once I find something good it can never stay that way. It either goes away or changes. Had a good wife, she changed and then went away. Had a descent job, it changed and became a pain in the ass.
All I want is to be left alone and get by without dealing with shit. All I ever do is deal with shit. I wish I could sell some of my writting and make enough money to sustain myself. That will never happen.
Police work Sucks. You deal with the worst society has to deal out, see horrible things that stay with you forever, have to constantly cover your ass because the back office is always breathing down your neck, make split second decisions that alters people's lives (including yours), and no one really appreciates what you do (for the most part). It is no wonder why Cops have such short life spans and they all have health issues. We spend our whole lives getting crapped on and dealing with crap and don't make crap for money.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have never majored in Criminal Justice and I would have never gotten in this line of work.
I'm sorry your getting screwed, and they aren't even buying you dinner first. You know, with so many courses being online now, you could always study to do something else. Just a thought.
Remember, deep breaths...say it with me...ohhmmmmm.....ohhmmmmm...
I on the other hand love my job,but am underpaid. I've been shit on by clients who think I picked up a pair of sizzors and just started cutting. They have no idea of what I had to learn before being turned out on the floor to do real hair.
The more I work with my living clients...the more I appreciate my dead clients(and they pay well too).
I too have seen more in working at the funeral home than most people will ever see or experience. Heave....we should be thankful they DON'T see what you and I have seen. I truely understand where you are coming from. You should actually be proud that you have tried to make a difference and protect people from seeing the ugly part of life.
I'm just happy when I can make a "unormal" situation and make it look somewhat "normal" for loved ones left behind(at the funeral home....you know...suicide and murder....I've walked the floors at night trying to forget). I believe it has changed me and how I view life. It's a shame we have had to suck it up and pretend we are "fine" when we really feel like shit!
I wouldn't change my career except that my health is dictating otherwise. I love my work and I know that it actually helps people and to hell with the handful of people who try to throw a monkey wrentch in it all...luckily they are few and far between!
I could never be a cop, I'd be the judge, jury and executioner all rolled into one with some of the scumbags running around our fine country. Especially child molesters, shot on sight without delay.
