Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
First of all, YOU are not a failure! I know it seems like your entire life is over because our relationship with our spouse is what identifies who we are. You are questioning everything about yourself right now. It's hard to find anything positive when you are losing the love of your life.
I have been there twice with the same person, just like you. Getting back together with someone you had a bad breakup with before, taking that chance and never dreaming it could implode again, especially after what you have been through together.
It is more common than you could ever believe. Most of us who have been married a long time have found our spouses to suddenly be cold and distant, not willing to work things out.
Turning into someone we don't recognize anymore.
It sounds to me like she has someone else. I know that may be hard to hear, but it sounds to me like you might already suspect that. She has already transferred her emotions to someone else.
That is how she is able to be so cold and unfeeling.
I know that you want to save your marriage, but it takes two to do that. You can't make all the concessions to try to hold onto her.
Maybe you are rushing things with a divorce already? Is she the one pushing to get this done right away? Don't do anything you are not ready for. You may need to work through some of your issues before you come to a point where you are ready to sign divorce papers.
It may be futile, but don't let her push you into something this soon.
Just because she has moved out and apparently moved on, divorce is final. There in most instances isn't any going back.
If you feel you need to go ahead and do the papers on Monday, I would suggest finding a counselor for yourself immediately. You need to have someone help you work through this so that you don't have to deal with this by yourself.
As I mentioned, the members at Divorce After Twenty Years here n DS will have much advice and support for you.
Good thoughts and prayers being sent your way today.
Regarding the divorce, shes pushing it. When I ask why she going so fast her answer is that she's put me through enough the past 18 months (this is true) and she feels terrible and want's to see me move on as she's moved on. I'm sure there is some truth to this but I'm not sure it's 100% the truth.
As for filing the PW on Monday, I'm not sure I'll ever be ready to do it but the one thing I don't want is for this to turn nasty. If I push back this then may become a knockdown drag out fight that I just don't want to go through, nor do I have the mental strength to go through. And really why put it off if she 100% checkout, I'm only delaying the inevitable.
I pray for your healing and that you find sure gth on the days ahead.
To a drug and alcohol therapist and alanon.
All three worked Well for me plus the love
Of good healthy caring people.
((((( hugs))))))
She became a different person...a stranger...and does not care
You will have a long grieving process
I am 21/2 years since abandonment...Have a new life and love
A new now and a new future
I still hurt....still baffled
But do not cry anymore....once in a blue
Accept and let go.......once gone....she is gone for good
It took nearly two years for her to stop blaming me...and own what she did...apologise and accept that she changed....not my fault
This has to be the saddest day of my life, I left the courthouse and just wanted to freaking DIE!!
At minimum to talk to. Divorce care is filled with
People who understand. They let you in no matter
What week it is, Its for thirteen weeks. I went for
Over a year still go when i can.
Please take care of yourself it does get better
With lots of support and love. Let yourself grieve
And be gentle with yourself. It is a brutal journey.
Once the divorce and decree were in place and i
Went no contact and moved, i started To heal and
Detach. I had tons of support during the divorce
And separation. I had situational depression and
trauma to contend with also.
(((((((( hugs))))))
Thanks for the tip on Divorce Care. I was able to find a group in my area and will be attending their group on Sunday. They are 6 weeks into but the lady was so nice and said to come.
I do not have a therapist yet, I am looking for one now as I've come to the conclusion I need one.
Sadly she will remain in my life for to foreseeable future. While we do not have kids we have a dog we both deeply love. He'll remain with me but but she will want to see him at least once a week, and I will not deny her that. Once she get settle she'll probably take him for longer periods of time, which I will be ok with as well.
I could only really detach with no contact
If i saw my ex today i would run the other
Direction. People with children it must Be
so much harder for keeping it to business
Of children Only.
I am tickled you could find a group its just
nice to have people to talk to going thru the
same Things. I learned a lot and found my
Soul again there.
What i love about my therapist is she leads
And directs me in a healthy fashion. Corrects
Me if i need it then i go about getting better.
Alanon and divorce care has saved my sanity.
Thats just me and my relationship we are all
Different. I still struggle every day.
