Hello. I haven't been here for about a year. Some people here were kind to me but others were not so nice. So I left. I have come back to tell you that I am now divorced from my abuser. He is not allowed to come anywhere near me as I now have a restraining order in place. He was given a supervised community order and probation. He has also been tagged.
life has been hard and I am still receiving councilling. I carry a panic alarm with me which the police gave me.
I still get days when I'm down but I am much happier on my own now. I am finding it better not not have him controlling my every move. I have nobody to answer to anymore.
I actually am a better person now. I don't miss him anymore. To me he is out of my life and I feel nothing for him no more.
i get lonely but my work occupies my days. Evenings can be lonely.
I do not want another man in my life. And I will not be looking for one. I do not need a man .

I wasn't on here a year ago but I am so happy for you! It's very clear from this post how strong you are. You are a survivor and should be so proud of yourself. Leaving is hard...people who haven't been through it don't understand what all it entails...the retaliation and repercussions. I am fortunate to have not been through it but my sister has and even though she's out and there's a restraining order, she still deals with the threats and control issues.
Your story gives me goose bumps...it's so inspiring!! You'll just continue to get stronger and stronger. Hugs to you!

Thankyou all. Don't let anyone control you . It's hard to leave an abusive relationship when there is so much control. But you can do it. I did . Finally. It takes a lot of strength but we all have it inside us.

Yes I got a lot of grief off a certain person on here, that's why I left. That was a while ago. I was called a few things. And I was so hurt and upset as I found it hard to break away from my abusive husband. But I finally did it and I'm getting stronger every day. I wanted to see how my old friends were doing. You were one of my good friends. Thankyou
