Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Honestly, it's easier when you can have days with no contact, and if you think his contacting you causes you to feel bad about where you're at, or about yourself in general, ask him not to contact you anymore. His goals, needs and intentions are not the same as yours, and you need to take care of your own now.
There's no rule about how long it should take you to mourn and feel sad, and no rule about how long it will take before the anger comes out. It probably will, since it's a very natural part of the grieving process.
I always think of one of my favourite sayings - An optimist is a person who knows that a step back after a step forward is not a disaster, it's a cha-cha. This is all just an unfortunate part of life's dance, as I'm finding out myself. I do hope that by the time I come out the other side I'm a better dancer. :)
Give yourself a smile in the mirror and know that at least you're recognizing when something's not good for you. Next time it will go better. And the time after that.
