Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
If you are not asking for what you are entitled to then you are working straight into his manipulations. Believe me when I say they will not stop taking more and more down the road. Protect yourself so you can protect your daughter. The first step in the healing process is to learn to take care of yourself. That means financially as well as emotionally. You've been in a tailspin (imo) since learning of his betrayal. That works out in his favor.
Make one change to yourself today. Tell yourself "HE" had a choice. HE cheated. HE could have come to you and worked out his issues with the marriage or ended it before moving on. HE did not do that. Just know that even though he blames you for HIS actions, you did not make those choices. HE made them.
Be strong for your daughter. Believe me hindsight is 20/20. I'm realizing my actions/depression and lack of strength are noted by my beautiful girls. I tried taking care of them first and only ended up realizing that by not taking care of me I did not protect them.
One step. Just start with one step. Hugs.
If you really wanted what was best for your daughter, you would be making sure you got every single thing you were entitled to so you can have some hope of supporting her on your own. You would be really thinking about how she is going to be affected by having a lying, manipulative, mentally abusive father in her life. What's he doing to you, he'll probably do to her on some level and after you've given away the farm in the divorce proceeding it'll be too late to do anything about it.
I strongly urge you to rethink you position. Put on your big girl panties and do right by your little girl. Having no dad is a hundred times better than having a selfish A-hole for a dad. Just my personal opinion.
