Darn...Why didn't I think of this earlier...I should have thrown a Hurrican Party here at the docks!! That would have been awesome. We had one once when I was in Norfolk at College and it was so cool. Okay..I guess sitting in the front lawn in lawn chairs during a hurricane isn't smart but we were young, drunk, and dumb!

Come on guys...Let's do a hurricane party here! Yeehaw!

I was in Virginia Beach during hurricane Hugo. I think that was it's name. It was pretty cool. Been through earthquakes and tornados too. What fun!

OMG...Hurricane Hugo was 1989...the side effects of it hit the day we got married. It was like a monsoon here! We've never had so much rain since. LOL I should have known then! It was a sign.

I was in college for hurricane Hugo. Columbia got hit pretty hard. But, yes we partied on the roof of our college dorms because we were young and dumb. Now, I am in Suffolk Va and hoping we don't get hit by Ike. Not too worried about Hanna. Don't want to be here alone with my kids.

It has BEGUN!!!!!!!!!!! The marine forcast isn't that bad. The forcasted wind speeds are sustained at 35 knots so that isn't too bad. I have been in open water in 40 knots so I am glad that the wind speed is getting lower.

My only complaint is that it is hot and stuffy in the boat. I can only have the companionway open because of the rain and it is so humid. It was miserable on the boat last night because it stayed about 78 degrees and it was extremely humid.

I am in Colonial Beach. It is only 1.5 hours from NOVA. Located about 1/2 the way between D.C. and the mouth of the Potomac River.

Okay all, It has really started raining. The wind isn't all that bad yet and the boat really isn't rocking too bad. It seems like this is just a rain event. Ti is actually a little boring right now.

I don't think the storm surge is going to nail me either. Things aren't going too badly at all. It is still a little early. I will keep you guys posted.

Okay.....The wind has now started to pick up. It is howeling through the rigging. It si also raining pretty hard. Boat is rocking a little but not bad. The fun is beginning.
