So after a divorce, most of us hope to move forward with love and relationships...or at least that was my intention.
After a year of being single, I found my high school sweetheart (the story is just like the notebook, only better cause it's happening to me, lol). We reconnected and have had a fabulous relationship for the past 10 months.
There is only 1 thing that I can shake...(and some of you may have seen a previous post)
He is a big flirt, and quite the ladies man. I can deal with him being a ladies man because when ever I am in the room, I am without a doubt the centre of his attention.
However, a few weeks ago, for no particular reason, I looked in his cell phone. There was a text message between him and some girl that has made me incredibily sad....3 texts in total, talking about missing kissing her neck!
I didn't even wait - I confronted him about it. I told him that it was completely unaccepted, and he agreed. He apologised, and told me it would never happen again, because he could see how much it bothered me.
That put me at ease, for the day, really.
Now, everytime his cell phone goes off, I wonder. Everytime he leaves the house, I wonder. I can't stop thinking about it...and who he's talking to...
He's never given me any real reason to believe that he would cheat on me, but then again, once burnt, forever wiser, right?
I know this sounds like me just venting, but I can't budge the feeling that there is more to this than I am seeing...
I mean, he could mean that he won't do that sort of talk again, or he could mean that he is just going to be sneakier about it. How do I know? How will I ever? And it's hard because having this hurt and doubt is now making me sad daily and unsure of what I am doing.
And to top it all off, he is going for surgery in a few weeks to have a vasectomy reversal so we can have kids! This is a pretty big deal... he is certainly willing to make the committement to me, but now I am wondering if it's more for a trap (we've joked anout that). How do I let him do that without being 100%... how do I believe that this is the right thing?
Does anyone out there have anything that will help me with this? I'd really appreciate it

Of course, flirting while in a relationship is unhealthy all together, in my opinion. He should be flirting with you and telling you how much he appreciates you.
It seems to me that everyone but me needs to have a backup, if their current relationship does not work out.
