I was wondering how many of us wonder What was I thinking? How could I have not seen the signs? What made me so Stupid?
I caught my X in so many lies and things didn't seem right, before I got married. I wonder how did he manage to put those rose colored glasses on me with me knowing it.Like the song says "IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME"

Yes, there were signs, all the way back to the beginning. I just (stupidly) ignored them. I felt like he needed me.

Because you don't want to know; you want to believe that the other person cares about you as much as you care about them. Because no one wants to assume the worst about the people they love and let into their lives. And even when you do see signs that everything is not what it seems, it's hard to know what to do. Even faced with undisputable facts, some people refuse to admit they did anything wrong; it's their business, not yours, so you should't interfere.

For me it was faith...
Faith that the man I loved/married couldn't, wouldn't do things things to me... there had to be another explaination.

At first I don't think you even recognize the signs. When you do, especially if it is continual, you spend a lot of time in denial with blinders on. Eventually a breaking point comes.

I'm w/Lewi61. I don't know if he's always been "this person" or if he morphed into this guy. There were some warning signs, but I couldn't have seen them until thee fallout happend. What do they say, hindsight is 20/20??

Love is blind.. Meaning you didnt want to see the signs, or you werent strong enough to do anything about the signs you already saw. I know for me I didnt see them because I didnt want to, and I wouldnt have been strong enough to leave had I seen them. I know now that he was cheating on me even before we got married, and he is one hell of a liar, even convinced his own parents he would never cheat on me. Well, we have all seen the light now.
