My ex and i recently broke up and everywhre i have read says don't jump into a friendship. Of course he asked if we could still be friends. We were high school sweethearts and dated almost 7 years. He felt as though we were about to get married since I am about to graduate college and move back home (I went to school out of state) and i spent a week with him for break and i was talking about how i was excited for the future. He was saying he loves me and cares about me but he isn't sure if he needs a typical guy period to date around before. he can just be married with no regrets on his youth. I still love him and i know he still loves me he said he didnt want to lose me from his life and i definitely dont want to lose him but i fear if we dont give each other space he will never have that time to do what he wants and i will never be able to move on. however i really really dont want to lose him in my life. any suggestions/ advice?

Hi- While reading your post, I remember my past boyfriend. After the broke up, we lost communication and then through a friend we became friends again. He told me that he is sincere and he wanted for us to be in relationship again. I also love him so we dated for months. I wanted him to be my husband, I prayed but God did not allow it to happen. We are now both married, have our own families and still friends.

I want to encourage you to pray for your relationship with him and if God is willing, He will make it happen. I am also with you in prayers that God will give the desires of your heart as you trust Him to lead you. Please update us, God bless.

I'm 54 & going through my first ever break up......my now ex girlfriend broke up with me......she jus basically said she didn't see a future with me & I was floored.....I asked if we could still be friends.....& she said yes but give her her space & time to process the break up.....I did try to give her space but being a stupid as*** I kept pushing & pushing I wish I would of gave her more space than I did.....I love her & I know as far as being boyfriend/girlfriend we can't be that but I had hoped that we could be friends still but......I believe I pushed her to far....so what I'm saying plz plz give him & the both of y'all space & time don't mess up like I've done!!
