i dont know your story - i am not sure why you wouldnt be able to take your granddaughter along if you are raising her. could you stay in the same state? is that the issue?
the way i think about it with my step daughter is i know she loves me and wants me to be happy. she is almost 12. dont you think if your 2 year old grandaughter understood that she would want you to live and be happy? to not be constrained? to go live your life? isnt that the kind of happiness you would want for her? how come you dont deserve that?
cant you have both? isnt that possible? to get out of your marriage and have a relationship with your 2 yearold granddaughter? wouldnt your child/children want this for you?
again, not sure how much this helps. i dont know all the ins and outs of your situation. i am sorry you are hurting. i wish i could help more.
No one need stay in a loveless marriage, unless they are comfortable with those circumstances and want to stay.
Whether you go or stay, you can still have time for yourself and you should be developing yourself so that this time does not pass so slowly and can be more enjoyable to you. When I was married I had a sitter come once a week so that I could participate in the Master Chorale and orchestra group at my local college. My ex and I also hired a sitter once a week so that we could go on dates.
Being a parent doesn't mean giving up on your life to be with a child 24/7. You have needs too. Seek to balance your life and be able to pursue the interests you have. It's not neglect to be gone from a child's life for a few hours every week. If your marriage is causing you that much strife then I'm sure you could use a little bit of escapism to recharge your batteries.
