I was sitting on the couch earlier tonight and paying bills online. Each time I saw today's date (9/16) I kept thinking that it meant something. It was driving me crazy what was significant about the date (today had to be someone's birthday!) So I finally looked at my calendar for last year and there it was! Moving Day! Today is one year since I moved out of my marital house. He didn't even know I was moving or gone! It wasn't until days later when he went by the house that he saw everything was gone. He sent a text saying "hope this means you are never stepping foot in th is house again", I blocked his number at that moment and have almost zero contact since then. I can't believe that it has already been a year! I still remember a year ago sitting in this house, on the floor sobbing because I was certain life was over, that I would never be happy again. It was the most pain I had ever felt in my life!

But guess what???

One year later I am so happy and I am actually thankful that my ex left me. In the last year I have gained so much. A promotion at work, building my dream home near my family and fell in love again (with a wonderful man who had been my best friend for two decades). I hardly ever think of my ex and my days are filled with so much happiness.

I just wanted to share because there are do many people struggling out there right now. It does get better. It takes time and effort and you have to want to change!
