Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
A new page is turned tonight. This year will be gone in a few hours and a new year is coming. A year that I will make plans to be happy and I will choose a certain date every month to do what I love - even if alone - with the commitment that it will be something I am doing for myself.
That day I will smile, I will laugh, I will do all I want regardless if I can afford it, emotionally or financially, and remember that day until the same planned day the following month comes around.
I will see a movie, or have manicure/pedicure, or go to the beach and close my eyes until I am tosted, or have tea, or go to a park, or sleep.
My first planned day is 1/19/12 - have lunch with a dear friend and walk around a mall.
What will you do on your first planned day that will make you happy in 2013?

I'm running a load out there in my pickup tomorrow when I meet the landlord and get the keys.

Actually what I'm involved in next is that at the local support group, we're having a birthday party for my Cat Mafia Boss--yes, my cat. It just so happens, another man has a birthday plus another woman and we're celebrating those too. So it will be big birthday blow-out.
You are too kind and I do appreciate your replies to my posts, your kind words whenever you join the forum, not only to me but to those who are aiming for positive support.
There are two ways to face life: looking up and moving forward or looking down and digging a bigger hole. I choose the first option when I can.

I actually likes all the snow in Syracuse. Even the winter of 2010-2011 when we got close to 190 inches. ;-)
Here in Florida we don't have snow so I only get to see the white treasure when I travel for work during the winter. The best I've witnessed was December 2005. A wonderful memory all around.
For me as well as many others on this board, the new year still brings with it divorce challenges, day by day 2013 will put the past in the distance and we will cope, finding the inspiration within to create new memories.
Enjoy your freedom - which is what your divorce brought as well - and I wish you a wonderful 2013!

I posted a thread here last week asking for input for a"date night", with myself or anyone else who wants to come along, a chance to stretch and live my life with more daring than ever before, at least one date night per season, and between my own list, and ideas inspired by others I have a feeling this is going to be a better year than last, and this last year was pretty darn wonderful.
I'm signing up for kayak lessons at the university.

Lovely post, Cmondo--I have a number of fun plans for the New Year, but most importantly-- I am going into it living my life just the way I want, unencumbered by so much of the heaviness that had weighed me down for so long! I am going into the New Year with a sense of lightnes, peace, and happiness--worlds away from how I felt this time last year. This is what I'm wishing for all of you too.
