Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
We say to ourselves, "Tell me you're going to stay and I'll deal with that. Or, tell me you're going to leave and I'll deal with that." Not knowing will eat away at you as I imagine it has. And yet you don't want to push her for an answer because that may push her to give an answer you don't want.
My advice is to find something to distract you while you wait to find out which way she will go. It will help to pass the time.
Feel pretty confident that I will eventually be in a good place, it's just that there's some pretty rough road ahead. Such is life.
Hopefully that made you laugh for a second... lame humor is a defense mechanism of mine. Need it today.
I think you feel hollow because it is a coping mechanism. LIke ThenAgain said, you are in limbo. The decision has been made and you are still under the same roof together.
Try and find constructive things to do away from the house while things get sorted out. (((HUGS)))
Living that process is what bothers me. I hate sleeping alone, even though I more or less have been for a few months. She's there but cold.
I'm not wanting to dive head first into another relationship, but I am beginning to understand that if I'm ever going to get there, I need to get her out of my life. She said the other night she was planning on me keeping the house, but her living there with me until May, She noted that the same bed didn't bother her... WHAT ABOUT ME?.... argh
Oh well, I'm biting my tongue at the moment. There's kids involved and a few conversations of that nature that need to take place.
I feel less hollow today, and more like I've got something in my gut.
I highly advise against that. She wants a divorce then she needs to leave. The more time she lives there...well..for lack of a nice way to say it, the more chance you are going to get screwed,
What do YOU want. Do you want the house? Can you afford to buy her out and pay to live there too? I know you feel spent emotionally because you have tried to keep your marriage and family together, but it's time to switch gears and find out what your rights are and protect them. Even though many couples try their best to keep divorce friendly, it is easy to get taken advantage of if you don't know what your rights are within the law. I'm not saying try and screw her over. I'm saying this is your future at stake.
I have more thoughts on it, but at this stage in the game I think it's best for me not to air them for all to read.
