At least we strongly feel she doesn't have a clue. She will be shocked and devastated.
I don't want to tell her, but I also don't want to continue lying to her.
@trisha9054 My number one priority is her of course. My fear of not telling her is if something happens and she finds out by accident. That would be even worse. I know I can do this for another 3 months...heck I've done 3 years since the cheating. I just hope he can.
Such a tough decision.
I appreciate your comments everyone. Please keep them coming to help me with this decision.
I would also try to put yourself in her shoes. You know her the best. When would you want to find out if it was you?
If he is willing to wait, it might also be a time the two of you could be sure this is the path you want to go down, and if it is, what some of the future decisions are that need to be made. (I'm guessing you need to make decisions about a business if you are still business partners? That sounds like a lot to figure out.)
If he won't wait, or you decide you don't want to wait, maybe a family counseling session would be helpful? If you end up telling her ahead, remember - with the internet - thousands of miles do not seem as far apart as they once used to.
Praying for wisdom for you!
I have a good relationship with his father, however I wouldn't call it a "warm" relationship. He hasn't said one word to me. Not even an I'm sorry to hear about what is going on. Nothing. I don't know what he told him and how he told him. I only know what he said he told him. I asked him to not tell him alone. I wanted for us to tell him together, but he of course he didn't listen. No surprise.
So I don't think I'll be able to convince him to tell our daughter now. He has always put his father before me and will trust his advice more than what I suggest.
I HATE that I am lying to my daughter.
