Im sadly smiling. Yeah. My STBX did that the last time we separated, bought flowers and crap, just to be nice, but the problem is, he never did before and I didn't want them then. I don't know, I think its stupid. Buy a whole freikin village but your still a jerk, Cut your hair, buy new clothes, blah blah, your still a jerk. Doesn't make them more appealing, its a lazy effort I think. Its easier to buy a gift than to do any real work on themselves or change whats wrong with them. Its pointless and confusing.

Hi Charlie: I think in his walnut-sized brain, he feels it is just easy to sway you. If you don't feel like beating him over the head with them, see if you can take them back and get the money. Money pays bills and can help out your daughter.

Oh I told him to keep them and we could get by without them and now because he isn't getting what he wants from me he's saying he's going to try to take my daughter. Over my dead body. Now that he does't have any real control over me....hes grasping and trying to get what he needs while screwing me over in the processes. He isn't going to like my response because I am a real BITCH to people like him and I have no shame in it :-). He will screw himself and I will get to watch him do it. If he didn't think with his brain down below he might be a tad bit more intelligent.

If my X had actually bought me anything, I would've been shocked. He never did anything for Xmas, anniversaries, or V day. I don't think I would even know what to do with a guy who actually bought me a present or flowers hahaha

Yeah he always bought me nice gifts at Christmas and what not but it never really made up for the fact the minute he didn't like something he turned into the most cold hearted person I have ever known in my life. He's very manipulative and my mental health started to deteriorate living with him. Lots of verbal abuse leading me to eventually explode in anger because I didn't know how to handle it or leave him and then one day I finally realized I had the power to do it and I have done it. It feel so good even though it's extremely stressful and I may go through a child custody battle. I am out and I am free of being mind fu*****. The guy has issues he's never resolved ....I'm done being a door mat for someone like that.

Charlie, I am so proud of you. It is wonderful that you found the power to leave him and said no to being a doormat. I hope everyone reads your thread to see this.

Mine were the cheap gifts, the good money went to whores. You didn't miss much. BUT, I hope someday you find a guy who will spoil the pants offa you sister! Cuz you deserve it! Charlie I believe it is like acid being with these people, they wear you down, suck the life out of you and make you doubt your intuitions and your own sanity. Good riddance.
