Haven't Been able to go to work

hi all, after my previous post about potentially going back into anxiety and depression after my breakup, I've completely crashed today.


he is a colleague and I keep hearing gossip that he's seeing other girls. I heard he spent Friday night with a girl I know and whilst I was okay dealing with it in that moment, as soon as I was alone I completely crashed. I haven't been eating at all for a week (just water and the odd fruit). today I just felt so dehydrated and weak. Both mentally and physically that I had to take the day off. 


Im not panicking that this will effect my job. I've been honest with my boss and HR about my anxiety and panic disorder and that I am dealing with it but I just crashed today. Not sure how it will pan out when I go back to work. 


I just want to escape that place to be honest. I want to get better and stop him effecting me. I keep picking myself up and thinking positively about myself. But he throws something else my way and I crash again. I'm tired of getting back up over and over again :(

nik, whoever these people are that are telling you these stories, you MUST stop talking to them right now. Whether they are true stories or not, these people are extremely insensitive as there's no chance this "information" can help you in any way. The best you can do is accept that the general spirit of the gossip is true: he's moved on. And so, well, so should you. It's much easier said than done, of course (I know, I truly do), but it's all you have left. Unless you absolutely love your job and a transfer is unreasonable/impractical/impossible, it perhaps wouldn't even be a bad idea to consider changing or transferring.
P.S.: if it's you asking about him and people just reply, they're still wrong to do so. This is not your business any more, and finding this stuff out only hurts you!

Divorce is personally devastating; it was like part of me died. MOST men SEEM to handle it well or hide it well. Personally, I think we’re wired differently. More emotional. You WILL get through it; I know it takes time. In the meantime, can you consider finding another position? The more distance you place between you and your ex will go a long way to help you move on with life. All the best to you!
