Happy to be with family but exhausted

so my mom and sister flew in today for the week. It's great being with them during this difficult time dealing with my impending divorce but all day my mom keeps on asking about the divorce -when is he moving, how are the kids going to school, etc etc.  I have already dealt with all these questions and I understand she is concerned but it is mentally draining to go through all this again all in one day!!!


hopefully no more talk about the divorce the rest of their stay!!

I get it. If you have to, tell them it's draining you, and to please limit their questions. Maybe :15 per day, if they have new concerns. The last thing you need on your plate is to take care of how the divorce is effecting others (adults) in your family. It certainly does impact everyone, but they need to understand that now is not the time for you to go into full force discussions. Maybe later (maybe never).

Exactly. I have a house full of family who just wants me to be normal. My anxiety and blood pressure is through the roof. It's so hard for me to keep it together. Praying for all of us.

Its brutally hard during The holidays, even
post divorce is tough. Your feelings and
Emotions are very close to the surface.

Try not to discuss the divorce, I refused after
one point with my mother She was telling me
how to run things. I had A very good lawyer
and we were running things not her. I still
Dont tell her much.

Families are a mixed blessings in divorce, they
Are not detached from the situation or whats
Happening to you. I could not take it when my
Mother wanted to run him down. I will be the
One doing that not her. Its a very confusing
And messy time emotionally, mentally and

Yes my mom totally means well but she is devastated. She pretty much bad mouthed him all day and though I agree I had to keep on reminding her he is the father of my children. I would love to hate him but I have to co parent with him. She actually started crying at dinner out with the kids I held it together but I just need her to get over it. Her life is not changing. Yes my life will be hard as a single mom and she feels so bad for me. And yes I probably should have seen red flags and probably never should have married a man who made less income than me. But I cannot change those things now and we have to move on.
