Well, so far so good. No one has come loose or anything like that. It is windy in spurts. I think we have definately seen a few gusts up over 40 but nothing too bad. On the main part of the river it is looking like 35-40 sustained. It is really protected where I am at because the wind is coming from the closest point of land to my dock. There is no fetch at all. The only rocking that I am doing is from strong gusts catching the top part of the rigging.

The tide is up at the bottom of my dock. Still a few more hours before the full brunt of the surge should hit so I am hoping that it will be contered by the low tide.

Looks like the wind is beginning to move South East. That is okay and it allows me to open up the companion way more.

I drove out to see the river earlier. It is really rough out there. Gives me flashbacks to that gale I went through a few years ago. There will be some damage to the docks on the Potomac River side of Colonial Beach before this is done because the waves are at the level where they are crashing into the docks out there now. Thank God that I am in a safe harbor!
