Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
I do think it's important to have some alone time as well to process your feelings. You can't cover them up by always being busy, or you'll never process them and they'll keep popping up at the most inopportune times.
I do understand the disappointment, but use that time to do some work on yourself. Look at it as an opportunity to get to know you better.
Go alone. You'd be surprised. Sometimes I have more fun going alone somewhere than I do with someones company.

I always think its because they don't want to hang out with me, or don't want a 3rd wheel, or think I'm desperate, or divorce is contagious, or something. Usually after a while I talk my self down. Their kid really is sick so they couldn't leave them with the sitter, or really did have a family emergency.
So, I do this: I try to take them at their word when they tell me why they canceled. But, if they cancel more than once in a row, I stop asking them to join me.
I do however try to go when anyone asks me to join them. Even if I don't feel 100% up to it, I make it a point to go the extra effort to meet up with friends. This always pays off in my opinion.
but..
you can;t count on anyone for your happiness. I do understand that there are times we just need someone, anyone, to get us out of what we are sinking in to, but we can't expect them to and then get disappointed or annoyed if they don't, especially if they don't really know whats what.
So try to be patient with them and call again to make plans. or if they cancel, ask what they are doing the next night. it may just be about them wanting to be lazy or not feeling like going out and has nothing to do with you.
