I have been divorced for 6 months, separated for 9 before that. I still feel like it was yesterday. I keep waiting for time to heal. I seem to be "stuck". I am at my daughter's family's house and have been for 15 months. My job here is to help with 2 year old granddaughter, housework, etc. I have worked all my life until I met my ex and moved to the middle of nowhere!! Now I am back in the city. I put all my things in storage, except what I am living out of at her house, which consists of a few bins of clothes, etc. (That just freaks me out - I couldn't put things in drawers, because that would mean this stay would be more permanent - that was 15 months ago!!!!! )I need to get a job (was legal secretary) and every time I think about the future, I have to stop - it just makes me sadder. So, I am in denial. I was just wondering if anybody who is already divorced went through the same kind of feelings. I have gone to psychotherapy and the bottom line is I need to get moving on. I know that and have many good suggestions on how to do that.. I don't know how........I am not the person I used to be, one who worked, enjoyed life, had fun, etc. Yes, depression is part of it and I am taking something for that. I think I know the answer to my dilemma, but just asking if ANYONE divorced has, or had, the same issues.

Little background: Married my ex in April, 2005. Met on eharmony. He was recently widowed, I had been divorced for 4 years. I gave up everything I had, job, material things, etc. to be with him. He decided I would be happier back in Houston! He filed for divorce 1 1/2 years after we were married - we were having some issues and he came home one day and told me he filed. I was devastated and shocked - toldl him you don't just do that because you are arguing - he said "that's how we do it in the country". We went to counseling and worked hard to stay together. Because we are from "different worlds his words)" he decided it was too hard to understand mine (the normal world, where people don't file for divorce after a fight, children do not try to take their father's company (his children), and morals are a VERY BIG issue. He never cheated on me, that was never a problem.
