Like someone else said a few days ago, it's a holiday made up by a greeting card company and people spend lots of money on it. It hasn't meant much to me the last few years so I've saved money.

It sucks being alone, no argument there , but I'd rather be alone than unhappy with someone..

Valentines Day in my book is for letting someone you love
know it.
Doesn't have to be your partner etc.
Tell you mom, take her to breakfast.
Fix her breakfast, invite all your single girls and do makeovers
for all in appreciation and love for each other.
This VD thing is of the past, there are so many singletons out there from Valentines Day not working out other than one day a year that I think we need to make it "love for others" !!!

I agree with Johnzilla. Better to be alone than unhappy. My first one alone in over 30 years. Last week I bought a ticket to Orlando on the spur of the moment. Get out of this cold and be in the sun on Valentines day. Margaritaville here I come. Get out and do something for you, it will take your mind off of things.

I agree with the Hallmark holiday nonsense. I've never been a fan, alone or not. I believe, if attached, or even not....love should be language, focus and SHOWN every day of the year.

Self love is the best kind, I'm learning.

I don't really go for the valentines stuff to be honest. We never got anything for each other because it was cheesy and we knew it was greeting card company crap.. We would just get dolled up either the weekend before or after and have a great time. It's just another thing that's a first without the guy that I had spent all those years with.

Everywhere I go valentines is getting shoved in my face like "Oh valentines day soon! Get this dress coz is has hearts and shit!"

Such rubbish.

This is my first V-day without a partner. I question at time am I sad about it and the answer is yes sometimes but after what I've been through and know who he really is and what he is capable of. I glad I won't be lied to this year

I have never cared about Valentine's Day so it isn't any big deal for me to spend it alone...it will be just another Friday night of flying solo. I'll get my own chocolate covered strawberries :)

I call it national be-depressed-because-you-are-single day.

I'll be working as my department field commander and will be patrolling all night so I'll be spending the evening with someone I love!! LOL

Valentine's Day is a day made by greeting card people to make other people feel like crap. My STBX were fighting last year around this time, so we didn't celebrate it then either. I'll have to start ignoring the day if possible. I'll be finishing up a business trip on it this year so hopefully it won't be so painful.
